Yes, I know I've covered reality shows before, but I've decided to cover a show or two that actually have some sort of impact on life. If you don't believe it like I do, then don't continue reading.
Now, the first show I wanna talk about is Dog the Bounty Hunter. Unlike the shows that I have mentioned in a previous post, and those that I haven't mentioned, Dog actually goes out and hunts down fugitives who don't check in, have bail revocations, what have you, with all the toughness in the world. But once the group have the guy, or girl, that they were after, they turn the corner and actually be all calm and actually talk to the guy on the way to the jail. Now, I don't know any bail bonds people, or how many that actually give a shit about the people that they arrest. But Dog and his crew, and those that they help tracking down and arresting the fugitives actually do care. They even help in any way that they could to help those that they arrest to make their lives better.
Okay, I guess it's only one show. I'm sorry it's so short. Hopefully my next topic will be better.

Valentine's Day
Yes, the dreaded day of love and mush is upon us. Now, I'm writing this piece as a single person and not through the possible eyes of someone in a romantic relationship. If you wanted that, then maybe I should have done this last year when I was actually in a relationship. But I'm not now, so you can just deal with it or leave.
Now, Valentine's Day, as we all know, is held on Feb. 14 and is celebrated by love and affection between intimate couples. Whether it's a romantic night out on the town, a card and chocolates (and flowers) , or even a nice bed for some "deep sea diving". Either way, Valentine's Day began in 500 AD by Pope Gelasius I, the day being named after one (or more) early Christian martyrs named Valentine. Though Pope Paul VI removed it from the Roman calender in 1969, the religious observance of the day is still allowed. It's only in the High Middle Ages does Valentine's Day become associated with romantic love in Geoffrey Chaucer's circle.
Now, I don't see how little heart shaped window stickers, baby's in diapers with angel-like wings and a bow that's suppose to make one fall in love with the first person they see, and a bow has anything to do with Christian martyrs, or even love for that matter. I honestly don't see what the big deal is to have one specific day set aside to show one's love to one that they care about when they should do it everyday. Granted, like I said, I'm single and I really don't care about Valentine's Day because of that. Then again, it's nice to hear 'I love you' on the 14 when one's dating, engaged, or even married. But one should say that everyday to their significant other because you don't know what's going to happen when you go off to work or whatever one does during the day. If you cannot express that kind of feeling and expression to another person that you truly care for, then perhaps you should rethink why you're with that person.
Today, Valentine's Day has become nothing more than a day where the card company's, flower shops, and sales of chocolates (plus intimate items) can make even that much more money. Yes, flowers and chocolates are nice with a card, but if you truly care for someone, tell them yourself, don't let a card do all the talking for you.
Next Topic: Reality Shows Part Deux
Yes, I know I've already reality shows, but I've got a show or two that I believe actually make a difference. Unlike the previously mentioned shows in a blog a couple weeks ago.

Trouble with People Against GLBT
Okay, I want to know what the big deal is about same gender couples not having the right to marry in all 50 states like heterosexual couples do. Those who are of the gay and lesbian sexual orientation are no more or less human than I or any other heterosexual person is. The people many of us have elected to the Senate or Congress seek to make sure that gays and lesbians, even quite possibly transgenders, cannot have the basic human rights that the rest of us have. Who are these Senators and Congress members to deem that gays and lesbians are to be denied the same things that heterosexual couples are granted everyday. For example, if a gay man wanted to visit his partner in the hospital, he would have to lie just to get past the lobby whereas if a woman wanted to visit her husband, she wouldn't be questioned once.
Not only do you have those in politics, but you've got these bible thumpers who preach that such things are either the works of the devil, a sickness, or some other reason that they can think of. Ever since ancient times, there have been some sort of percentage of people who are either gay, lesbian, bi, or transgender. Only in recent years has being transgender being able to put into practice.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with people being gay, lesbian, bi-sexual, or transgender. All you have is people that are so... up in arms against such people even being in existence, that they want to deny the GLBT community the basic human rights that are given to heterosexual people. If you are one of those who are completely against any who is in the GLBT community, it's time to get your head out of your ass and accept the fact that this community is here and it's here to stay.
